Shanghai BSK Academy and the Shanghai Branch of China Center for International Educational Exchange - under China Education Association for International Exchange and the Ministry of Education of China, are in need of qualified ESL teacher trainers and ESL teachers to teach oral English in public schools in Shanghai, China.
The contract term is from September 1, 2008 to June 19, 2009.
A fulltime English Teacher teaches a minimum of 26 periods of class per week in select public schools in Shanghai (35 minutes for one period in primary schools and 45 minutes for one period in secondary schools). The students are between 7 and 15 years of age. BSK provides textbooks and teaching materials. No office hours are required.
Teacher Qualification
The minimum requirements for the teaching candidate are:
- Native English-speaker without strong regional accent;
- Bachelor's degree;
- TEFL or TESOL Certificate or two year relevant teaching experience;
- No criminal records;
- In good health condition;
- Outgoing and passionate for helping young students to learn;
- Capable of quickly adapting to different cultural and social environment.
Remuneration:
- Monthly salary of RMB11,000 (before tax) for a weekly teaching load of 26 periods of classes;
- Reimbursement of two-way economy-class airfare between the teacher's home country and Shanghai;
- The costs for the teacher's visa (one-entry), work permit and medical examination in Shanghai will be covered;
- Foreign Expert Certificate which authorizes the teacher to be a qualified teacher in China;
- Comprehensive Accident Insurance for the teacher under the age of 60;
- Monthly commute allowance of RMB150;
- Paid sick leave and paid statutory holidays in China;
- Performance-based bonus at the end of every semester (maximum RMB3,000 for each semester);
- Completion bonus at the end of the contract;
- Free Mandarin classes every week;
- Free airport pickup;
- Free temporary residence (up to one week) when the teacher arrives in Shanghai for the first time;
- Parties, get-togethers and tourist trips in- and outside of Shanghai.
